Cost of Care

BluePearl Veterinary Partners services include specialty care, 24-hour critical care monitoring and hospitalization, as well as emergency services at many of our hospitals. Some of our hospitals are open day and night, every day of the year, including holidays. Because we offer a level of specialized care necessary to treat the critically ill patients and complicated cases referred to us, our fees for the care given and the procedures performed, while not excessive, may be higher than a usual veterinary visit.

Treatment Plans

For most families, the unexpected nature of medical expenses is the most troubling. The last thing you need is a surprise on your pet’s bill. That’s why you will receive a proposed treatment plan with associated fees after we evaluate of your pet’s condition and before treatment begins.

For certain procedures, prolonged stays and extensive emergency visits, a deposit is required. In addition, if your pet is hospitalized, you will be kept updated on charges, especially if charges start to exceed the initial estimate.  Please feel free to ask questions so that you feel informed and comfortable with the charges being applied to your pet’s account.

Payment Options

Payment in full is required when services are completed and prior to patient discharge. For your convenience, the following forms of payment are accepted: cash, checks, Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express. While payment plans for services are not offered, CareCredit –a credit plan that allows you to pay back the charges over a period of time without interest – is accepted and can be processed at our hospital. Pet Insurance

Pet health insurance may cover some or part of the procedures. Please check with your individual pet insurance carrier for procedures and policies covering specialty services. While BluePearl does not process pet insurance, we can provide you with the documentation of services rendered so that you may submit a claim to your insurance carrier.

We advise pet owners to consider purchasing pet insurance. Our preferred provider is Trupanion. However, there are numerous companies offering pet insurance.
